It was a sunny day. The hood was up. The back curtain was hanging down. When I approached there were people standing on both sides of the road. When my master fell out I ran straight to my shop. I did not see that gentleman (Capt. Morgan). I did not notice anything. There was a lot of people running in the street in all directions. My ricksha is outside the Court. I will bring it along tomorrow morning.
To the Court.
I ran away because I wanted to report the matter at the shop. I don't know the prisoner. I never saw him. When my master fell out
of the ricksha I did not know he had been shot. I went to report that my master had fallen out of the ricksha.
Re-examined.
The ricksha is in the same condition as then. The back cur- tain was not fastened on that day.
To the Court.
The number of the ricksha appears on my licence. I produce it. Fung Chi.
Second coxswain of No.1 Fire Float. On February 24th about noon I was on fire float laying off Statue Square at the wharf, I heard the report of a firearm and heard cries of save life. I ran ashore, Stoker Lam Po came ashore after me. Fire float lay East at the enclosure. I came running up. I saw a number of people running towards Queen's statue. I ran up Wardley Street. When I came ashore I ran to the right up to the Queen's statue. Distance from the gangway leading to the enclosure was about 40 feet. 8 or 9 people were running towards the Queen's statue besides myself.
I went straight up to Des Voeux Road. I saw people then running in all directions. I went straight up Wardley Street. I saw people running so I chased up to see. I saw a white man holding another
man.
